Biography
Kristina McCormick was born May 17, 1992, in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Karen Baker, is from Rock Island, Illinois, and moved to Houston where she met Kristina’s father, Kenny McCormick, who was born and raised in Houston and worked for the oil and gas industry. Growing up, all Kristina wanted to ever do in her life was to be an actress. Her parents raised her as a complete Disney nerd - because of this, she had dreamt her entire life to work with Disney. She ended up going to Royal High School, in Brookshire, Tx, which didn’t have theater. She grew up playing softball and t-ball, all the way until she was in her senior year in High School. She’s also very good at shooting pool and was raised in a 9 ft swimming pool where she swam a lot. However, Kristina never gave up on her dream to act.
She attended Houston Community College where she received her associate's degree with the "Extraordinary Film Program" . A few weeks later, she was in an independent film “The Preacher’s Daughter” by Michelle Mower. She then asked Kristina to be a personal assistant for the art department. At the time, she learned so much and loved what she was doing. Very shortly after that production, another independent film, “Jacob” by Larry Carrell, asked for assistance. Kristina booked it and played the part of "prop girl". Within both productions, in between, and after, Finally, when acting classes were available at the college, she was able to work on her true dream. She attended a student film audition and immediately booked. Kristina couldn’t believe that her first shot was successful. She also obtained directing and producing experience, eventually winning the “Houston Movie Making Academy Awards”.
After graduating, she was in several local shorts and film festivals in Houston. She won best supporting actress for the horror festival “Splatterfest”. On another independent film, she networked more and started taking her acting career to the next level. She began taking classes with Connie Cooper (Friday Night Lights), made a demoreel, and applied to an agency. She continued her acting classes and began training with John Lansch (Knowing), Amy Jo Berman (Former VP of HBO), Hannah Kat Jones (Austin & Alley), Ashlee Brian (The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Ryan Kelley (Teen Wolf), and Sara Gaston. She booked her first feature and callback in 2018, (Old Man Jackson) and very shortly after, joined The Boysen Agency. She’s currently working on becoming SAG-AFTRA ELIGIBLE. Her latest project was on a student film in August 2021.
